• Gay & lesbian police, university experts to speak on diversity and LGBT rights
• Seminar to review homophobia, hate crimes, violence against LGBT community
Representatives from Spain’s national Association of Gay and Lesbian Police (Asociación de Policías Gays y Lesbianas, GAYLESPOL) will join academic lecturers from the Law Faculty of the Universitat de València in presenting a day-long learning seminar entitled “Police, Diversity and Rights” (Policía, diversidad y derechos) on April 29th in Gandía, in the Safor region of the Valencian community.
In its third year in the Valencian community, the annual day-long program will include presentations by police and university researchers about diversity and LGBT rights in Spain today as well as the problems of homophobia, discrimination due to sexual orientation, hate crimes and violence against members of the the LGBT community.
The seminar will take place at the Centre Internacional de Gandía. Cost for attendees is 15 euros and participants are eligible to receive one university-level course credit for their attendance. More information is available online University of Valencia website in Spanish and in Valencià.
