• Protest over chronic problem of gender- & domestic-violence nationwide
More than 20,000 people are expected to turnout in Madrid on Nov. 7 in a march to protest violence directed at women by men in Spain, according to organizers of the demonstration.
The “Marcha Estatal contra las Violencias Machistas” has been organized by Spain’s feminist movement, which will gather representatives of more than 380 feminist organizations from across Spain. The march’s organizing website can be found at: http://marcha7nmadrid.org/en/
The demonstration has also won the support of all left-wing political parties, including the Socialist party (PSOE), Podemos, United Left (IU, Izquierda Unida) and Equo. The conservative ruling Partido Popular (PP), Ciudadanos and the UPyD parties have declined so far to participate.
