Oxfam Intermón, the affiliate in Spain of the international development aid organisation Oxfam, has announced the opening of two new charity shops in Barcelona and Madrid as part of a three-year-old drive to generate funding in Spain for the organization’s ongoing poverty alleviation, development aid, humanitarian relief and fair-trade campaigns around the world.
The newest Oxfam Intermón shop in Madrid will open Wednesday 11th January at 8 p.m. on the Paseo de Extremadura in Madrid, while the opening of the organization’s new Barcelona shop on the Gran de Sant Andreu is set for Wednesday 17th January at 7 p.m.
Oxfam Intermón currently operated nine shops throughout Spain, four of which are located in Barcelona, two in Madrid, another two in Valencia and one in Elche. The newest charity shops to be launched by Oxfam Intermón will bring the total in Spain to 11 and the organisation says it hopes to operate as many as 50 such shops up-and-running throughout Spain in the next four to five years.
