CONGDEThe Coordinadora de ONG para el Desarrollo de España (CONGDE, Coordinating Council of Development NGOs of Spain), is an umbrella federation of Spanish non-governmental organizations focused on providing development aid and humanitarian assistance to impoverished and disadvantage people and communities in countries around the world.

Since its founding in 1986, CONGDE has coordinated and promoted collaboration on international development and humanitarian assistance projects among member organizations and entities subscribing to its shared code of conduct, which today include some 80 individual NGOs as well as regional councils corresponding to each of Spain’s 17 regional Autonomous Communities, which coordinate the work of an additional 420 development NGOs nationwide.

Among the services provided by CONGDE is an online Transparency and Good Government evaluation tool for member NGOs and the mandatory annual screening, evaluation and certification of member NGOs found to be in compliance with CONGDE’s Transparency and Good Government guidelines.
