• 12 images by leading photographers present ’12 Views of Solidarity’ for 2017
• Umbrella organization represents 78 national, regional NGOs throughout Spain
To celebrate and raise funds for the humanitarian relief efforts of nerly four million volunteers who work in Spain’s non-governmental organisations, the umbrella Plataforma del Voluntariado de España (Spanish Volunteer Platform, or PVE), has issued its fourth-annual calendar for 2017 with striking images made by a dozen photographers under the theme of “12 Views of Solidarity.”
The 2017 calendar includes a dozen black-and-white images intended to raise awareness about the importance of solidarity and volunteer work carried by Spanish volunteer workers and staff of non-governmental organisations at home and abroad.
This year’s calendar, which is available by going to the PVE website, includes the work of photographers Isabel Muñoz, Ouka Leele Chema Madoz, Diana de Lima, Miguel Serrano, Guillermo Asián, Sofia Santaclara, Colita, Juan Millás, Willa, Leo Cobo and Pedro Armestre.
The PVE is comprised of 78 national and regional organisations that work to alleviate poverty, provide humanitarian relief and social assistance, including the Spanish Red Cross, Cáritas, the Spanish Commission for Refugee Assistance (CEAR), the Spanish Association against Cancer, the National Federation of Lesbians, Gays, Transsexuals and Bisexuals, Aldeas Infantiles (‘Children’s Villages’) and the Once charitable lottery, among others.
