• World FairTrade Challenge 2016 set for May 13-15th worldwide
• Supporters to host fair-trade coffee break with friends, family or co-workers
FairTrade Ibérica, the Spanish affiliate of the International FairTrade network of organisations promoting sustainable trade practices worldwide, has called on Spaniards to support small producers of fair-trade coffee around the world by organizing a fair-trade coffee break in their community as part of the upcoming World FairTrade Challenge 2016 (WFC) on May 13-15th.
WFC 2016 has been launched by International FairTrade and its affiliate organisations as a means of sending a message to governments and community leaders around the world that buying and drinking fair trade coffee is the best way to support small coffee farmers increasingly facing the negative effects of climate change.
Participating in WFC 2016 is easy: the organizers of WFC 2016 ask that supporters in Spain and around the world simply organize a Fairtrade coffee get together from May 13-15th at home with friends or family, at work with colleagues, or in a public space where everyone from the community can join in.
