The free mobile app, called Arrels Localitzador, let users in Barcelona or elswhere in Catalonia pinpoint the location of homeless persons and automatically alert Arrels specialist teams trained to approach the person or groups of homeless in order to offer assistance.

The new mobile app is an extension of desktop application that last year resulted fielded 224 messages from passers-by about homeless people in the street.
